The Luxembourg Brotherhood of America website has a free digital library with archives of LBA anniversary booklets, Schobermesse program booklets and Luxembourg News of America newsletters.
The Luxembourg Brotherhood of America (LBA), founded in 1887 in Chicago, is the oldest Luxembourg society in the United States. Recently, the LBA added an extensive digital library of LBA resources to its website. It is accessible to everyone and is FREE of charge.
The digital library contains pdf scans of:
- LBA anniversary booklets 50th, 100th and 125th – 1938, 1987, 2013
- Schobermesse program booklets from 1905-1967
- Luxembourg News of America – 1950s-2020s
LBA anniversary booklets contain extensive historic information about the LBA and genealogical information and historic photographs. Schobermesse program booklets contain historic information about the Grand Duchy and Luxembourgers in Chicago and the United States. In addition, there are biographical sketches about Luxembourg-Americans and advertisements for Chicago regional business who were Schobermesse sponsors. The Luxembourg News of America is the longest-running Luxembourg-American newsletter in the United States. It contains historic and genealogical information for Luxembourg-American families as well as historic data for decades of Luxembourg-American happenings and events.
