Luxembourg or Luxemburg?

People new to researching their Luxembourgish genealogy are often confused by the spelling of Luxembourg. There’s Luxembourg, Luxemburg and Lëtzebuerg. Which is correct?
Actually, they all are. Luxemburg is the German spelling of Luxembourg, often found in old German research resources such as the Luxemburger Gazette newspaper, which is written in German.
Luxembourg is the French and English spelling of Luxembourg and the way Luxembourg is most commonly spelled today universally.
Not to throw another wrench into the subject but Luxembourg/Luxembourg in the Luxembourgish language is spelled as Lëtzebuerg. With Luxembourgish (the national language of Luxembourg) becoming more of a written language in recent decades), the Luxembourgish spell of Lëtzebuerg is also seen more often in written material than in the past.
So Luxemburg, Luxembourg, Lëtzebuerg—they are all Luxembourg (Luxemburg, Lëtzbuerg)! It’s all correct.
