Luxembourg Wine and 2026 Wine Festivals

The annual Grevenmacher Wine Fest parade offers entertainment—and lots of wine tasting.

Wine and viniculture have been a part of Luxembourg’s social and cultural life since the time of the Romans. Even though the wine-producing Moselle region of Luxembourg is quite small, the quality of the crémant and wine from the region is outstanding.

Family-owned wineries that date back centuries still exist in Luxembourg today and continue to proudly place their family names on labels of wines they produce. Some of these wineries are open to visitors for tastings and to purchase some of the best wines that this region of Europe has to offer.

Fall is always an exciting time in the Moselle wine region of the Grand Duchy. As the Autumn weather turns the vineyard leaves to a shimmering gold color, the annual grape harvest begins. Vineyards often enlist the help of family members and friends or foreign laborers to assist with the important job of harvesting the year’s yield. If you drive through the Moselle region during harvest time, vineyards are dotted with laborers carefully and efficiently clipping the precious grapes off the vines and putting them into baskets. It is a sight to behold this time of year.

Fall is also the season of wine fests in the Moselle region, including these festivals this year:

  • September 6 – Schwéidsbenger Wäifescht in Schwebsange
  • September 11 – 76th Grevenmacher Wine Fest in Grevenmacher
  • September 19 – Riesling Open in Wormeldange and Ehnen
  • September 20– Crémant and Culture Fest in Remich

If you are visiting Luxembourg this September, consider participating in one of the numerous wine fests for an enjoyable, memorable experience.
